One of the biggest and most referenced food shows and associations across America is the Specialty Food Association. Each year the association hosts trade shows, publishes articles and magazines for the food and beverage industry and amongst all of that are lists with select products noted as “Buyers’ Picks”.

Vernon, BC based House of Q is proud to share that one of their products has been chosen to be on the BBQ Sauce “Buyers Picks” list for 2022.

“This is exciting” says BBQ Brian Misko of House of Q. “Our distribution partner (Delano Distribution) in the USA helps us reach more and more retailers across the USA and even to other countries however getting the awareness of our brand and our story to consumers is the hard part. Getting recognition like being a Buyers Pick is awesome and a great way to let backyard cooks know we are there!.”

House of Q has five different BBQ sauces in their line along with three BBQ rubs and three seasonings. The product chosen to be on the Buyers Picks is Slow Smoke Gold BBQ Sauce. This mustard-based sauce has won many awards at contests and has helped the Pitmaster cook-team win many Grand Championships.

Misko says “Slow Smoke Gold is a mustard that is easy to change a non-mustard fan into a fan. It’s tangy, zippy and very diverse as to what dish you can use the sauce.”

Canada is the world’s largest producer of mustard and mustard seed even though the genre of mustard-based BBQ sauce has origins in North and South Carolina of United States. Many BBQ cooks and pitmaster’s in Kansas City use mustard based sauces as the first layer of flavour before BBQ rubs are sprinkled on slow-smoked meat.

“This sauce was crafted to help our cook team to get better calls to the stage at BBQ contests. Now, it gets awards just for being a well-crafted sauce”, says Misko.
